The auction, at the Natimuk Showgrounds, will have a record-breaking 200 pens with a variety of poultry, birds, pets and sundries up for grabs.

"We've had good feedback from previous auctions and it's amazing we had to close entries early," club president Brendan Lloyd said.

The club is still settling into its new home at the showgrounds with more cages needing to be built and larger pens still to be relocated to accomodate more poultry and larger birds.

Mr Lloyd said the Natimuk Showgrounds had been extremely supportive of the club.

"They've been very welcoming and very accepting of us," he said.

"We have people from everywhere come to our auctions and shows, so it will bring money into the town."

Minorcas, Belgians, Silkies, Silver Laced Barnevelder and Gold Laced Wyndotte are just some of the many chooks that are on offer.

Water fowl will also be there, alongside canaries, king quail and guinea pigs, which are always a big hit with the children.

"The auction itself doesn't take long as we do it by pen," Mr Lloyd said.

Birds are to be penned by 10am sharp on the day. The auction begins at 11am and morning tea and lunch will be available to buy.
