Cross country spirit at school
Rainbow P-12 College’s Cross Country event was a fantastic success last week, with ideal morning weather helping create perfect conditions for students to take part.
The event showcased strong participation across the school, with students demonstrating grit, determination and resilience as they completed their races.
Many students also showed outstanding peer support, encouraging classmates and even running alongside others to help them reach the finish line.
The school said the day was a strong example of its positive culture and values in action.
The week’s focus behaviour was encouraging others and showing a growth mindset, and students embraced the challenge throughout the event.
Every student participated in some way, whether by running or walking, helping at checkpoints, or assisting with the baked potato lunch back at school.
Rainbow P-12 College principal Colleen Petschel said she was extremely proud of the students’ efforts, particularly their support for one another.
The school thanked Steph Glover and Veronica Huff for coordinating the event, Mrs Huff and Mr Huff for setting up the track, staff and student helpers, Dusty for his motivational warm-up, and parents and community members for their support.
Tennille Gould and Krissy Weir were also recognised for pacing students during walking.
