Shanae Thomas-Williams and husband Mack Williams have joined Horsham Arts Council for their special anniversary production.

Horsham Arts Council (HAC) is one of those places with many people travelling from across the Wimmera and beyond wanting to celebrate 60 years of the organisation.

One couple from Carrum Downs, in Melbourne, have booked roles in the show.

Former Horsham local Shanae Thomas-Williams is returning alongside her husband Mack Williams for what will be his first HAC performance.

"My mother does shows and is the vocal director, my father is a life member and my brother and sister-in-law are a part of HAC so it really is a family affair," Ms Thomas-Williams said.

Ms Thomas-Williams moved out of home at 18 when she pursued study in Melbourne, where she collected a performing arts training degree and met Mr Williams through the Clock Theatre Company.

Her last show with HAC was 'Broadway Showcase' directed by Debbie Boutcher.

"Horsham is home and I love the production team here," she said.

She said executive director Ms Boutcher convinced her to head back for the special anniversary production.

"Sixty years is a milestone worth celebrating," Ms Thomas-Williams said.

"It's an amazing legacy and my family has been a big part of it."

Before auditioning, the couple spoke with the production team, who ultimately decided to let them be in the show.

"We spoke with the production team and explained that we would love to be a part of it but we wouldn't be able to make it down every weekend," she said.

"They trust us to be away and know our stuff, which is lovely."

Ms Thomas-Williams said rehearsal videos were sent to them after each rehearsal to enable them to learn their parts.

"They know who I am and what I'm capable of," she said.

The pair travel down every third weekend for rehearsals.

"Lots of late nights and fuel but it's all worth it," she said.

'The Last 10 Years' opens tonight and will run until May 17.
