Hindmarsh Shire grants awarded
AT the Council meeting held on Wednesday, October 29, 11 community groups were awarded funding though Round One of the 2025/2026 Community Action Grant Program, and eight businesses were awarded funding through round one of the Business Assistance Grant Program.

• Dimboola Croquet Club will receive $863.64 to assist with the construction of a shelter to protect their main entrance to their clubrooms from the weather.
• Nhill A&P Society Vintage Club Inc. will receive $1000 towards a new storage shed.
• Nhill Golf Club Inc. will receive $1000 towards updating and replacing their club’s kitchen facilities.
• Nhill and District Historical Society will receive $1000 towards the purchase of a laptop, printer and an electronic payment machine.
• Dimboola Cemetery will receive $828.64 towards purchasing a chainsaw and native plants to maintain the presentation of the cemetery.
• Nhill Bowling Club Inc. will receive $908.18 for purchasing a vacuum cleaner to maintain and clean the clubrooms.
• Dimboola Sporting Club will receive $1000 for the purchase of a cabinet for a defibrillator.
• Dimboola Tennis Club will receive $854.54 towards the purchase of tennis balls for games and playing shirts.
• Rainbow Recreation Reserve will receive $814.55 for the purchase of two vacuums.
• Nhill Aviation Heritage Centre will receive $944.55 towards the purchase of a computer which will be utilised by volunteers when cataloguing museum items, as well as by visitors who wish to look up war service records.
• Dimboola RSL Sub-Branch will receive $930.78 to assist with the purchase of new shelves and cupboards for the RSL Hall.
• Bow Bakery, Rainbow received $1500 towards a mural on the side of the bakery to be completed by a local artist.
• Cambrelles, Nhill will receive $2760 towards signage and façade upgrades for their business.
• Mark Launer Plumbing, Dimboola will receive up to $3000 to install signage on their shopfront.
• Nhill Gutter Cleaning will receive up to $3000 for signwriting and façade upgrades.
• Rainbow Learning Group and Neighbourhood House will receive up to $1173 for signwriting and façade upgrades including an all-access ramp at their Federal Street shopfront.
• Jasmine Garden Thai Restaurant, Nhill will receive $1667 for signage.
• Desert Blooms Florist, Dimboola has successfully applied for funding of $1918.62 to go towards expanding their external display area.
• Dimboola Pottery will receive $2000 towards installation of ceiling heaters in the workshop/training area to create a more comfortable environment for winter pottery classes.
HSC congratulated all successful businesses and community groups and was looking forward to seeing their funded projects/upgrades take shape.
