School embraces Harmony Day
Students and staff at Hopetoun P-12 College came together on March 17 to celebrate Harmony Day in an event organised by Mrs Bound and the Year 9 Future Ready class.

Each year level contributed to the celebrations by designing activities that highlighted diversity and unity within the school community.
P-3 students presented a retelling of a book about the six seasons, while grades 4-6 performed a rhythmic dance to entertain the audience.
Year 7 students shared insights into Japanese cultural traditions, adding an educational element to the day’s celebrations.
Across the school, each year level also ran a variety of activities in the stadium and the Hub, encouraging broad participation and engagement.
The celebration was described as an overwhelming success and concluded with a shared hot dog lunch.
The event provided a valuable opportunity for the school community to reflect on the Harmony Day message that “everyone belongs” and to celebrate the rich mix of cultures that make the local area a great place to live.
Principal Rhiannon Smith congratulated Year 9 students for their outstanding efforts in helping deliver the successful event.
