Both finals-bound, both eager to make a statement. Saturday’s clash between Dimboola and Southern Mallee Thunder is a true test before finals footy begins.

With both sides in the final five, it'll be a chance for both teams to see how they match up before finals kick off.

Last time the sides played, it was Southern Mallee who were victorious, 15.7 (97) to 8.9 (57).

But that was before Dimboola found their current form, and Andrew Moore's charges will be keen not to allow a repetition of that result this week.

Moore confirmed the side wouldn't be changing anything in terms of how they would approach the game, sticking with how they'd been approaching the last couple of weeks in particular.

Moore will again miss the game himself, out injured but expected to return for the final series.

"You can never take any team lightly, the Thunder in particular, and they beat us in all areas last time, so we have a lot to improve on," Moore said.

"We'll be going out full strength and ready to make a statement to continue on that winning streak we have got going on."

Admitting he loved a challenge, Moore said he was looking forward to seeing the growth on his side since they last met.

"It'll be great to see where we are and where we still need to get better," Moore said.

"We are still growing as a team and learning, and it's a great challenge, and you want to be able to challenge yourself against the better sides and Southern Mallee are, in our eyes, one of the better ones out there."
