Sporting excellence in the spotlight

The 40th Wimmera Sports Star of the Year Awards will take place tonight at Horsham Town Hall on Friday, with seven nominees in the running for the main award.

From elite athletes to volunteers, coaches, clubs, and schools, the 2026 Wimmera Sports Star of the Year Awards are shaping up as a major celebration of local sport. Volleyball Horsham (pictures in 2025) is in the running for several awards this year.
