Time for reflection

Easter means different things to different people; no matter what people think about its origin and meaning, all appreciate the opportunity to stop and reflect or to share with family and friends during the public holiday of Easter.

The high point in the Christian calendar.

The local churches were once again hosting services, with Thursday evening meals, sunrise breakfast at Pella, thoughtful Good Friday services remembering the death of God’s Son, Jesus Christ, and the highlight of Easter, resurrection Day on Sunday.

It was an opportunity to reflect on death and life, sadness and joy, despair and hope.

Rev Susan Pearse, of the Southern Mallee Cooperative Parish, says, “We trust that Easter was a special time for all and that people were blessed.

“For those experiencing hard times, may they know hope.

“For those who mourn, may they know peace.

“For those who trust, may they know joy.

“May everyone have had a safe Easter and time to reflect on the important things of life.”
