The Rainbow Town Committee held a gathering on Monday, welcoming the town's new and prospective residents to their new home.
The previous two years ceremonies couldn't be held beacuse of Covid restrictions, so this year's event invited all newcomers from the past three years, as well as those who are hoping to relocate to Rainbow soon.
Rainbow Town Committee president Greg Roberts said that any increase in population was a testament to the town.
"It is always nice to have new blood and see new faces in our town," Mr Roberts said.
"I hope they all feel welcome and at home here in Rainbow."
Andy and Gemma Morris moved to Rainbow to escape Covid after Andy's tattoo parlour was closed.
"We went searching for a house we could afford to buy online, and searched based on the deposit we had saved rather than location. We bought the house sight unseen," Gemma said.
New resident James McDonald said he was happy to have made the move from Riddells Creek to Rainbow, and that the low cost real estate had greatly influenced his decision too.
"I can't afford anything withing 200 kilometres of Melbourne. Rainbow is quiet, everyone is friendly, and there is no crime," he said.
"It was a bit of an inconvenience having to go to Horsham for some things, but it's no different from when I had to drive to Footscray."
Julie, who has been staying at the Rainbow Caravan Park said life here felt like a jigsaw fitting together.
"Rainbow ticked every box on my list," she said.
"I've been looking for somewhere with that community spirit, an active community, and the town has made me feel so welcome- every shop I go into, I am treated like an old friend."
The event was hosted at the Rainbow Recreation Reserve, with the Town Committee provided a barbecue, ice cream and fruit salad for dinner, and goodie bags passed out to the attendents.
The bags contained a booklet with phone numbers and contact information for the numerous clubs and organisation, as well as points of interest and tourist attractions.
Rainbow Town Committee secretary Allira Roberts said the booklet is designed to promote the the best aspects of Rainbow, as well as provide basic information such as rubbish and recycling days.
"We want to advertise how much our town has to offer," she said.
"There is a wide range of businesses here for a town our size."
